Tulsa’s First Annual Home Movie Fest: Call for Submissions

What:                 Tulsa’s First Annual Home Movie Fest

When:                 Thursday, April 5th, 2018, 7-9pm

Where:                Circle Cinema

Home movies have been a part of our world almost as long as cinema itself. They capture holidays, birthdays, new homes and cars, weddings, work, and vacations. Home movies document both once-in-a-lifetime events and mundane aspects of everyday life. Because they do all of these things, home movies serve as windows into the past. They provide us with unique perspectives on the complex lives of those we know and those we do not, allowing us to glimpse in these recorded moments the nuanced ways in which we are all connected.

Home Movie Fest will celebrate these underappreciated films. This festival will feature home movie excerpts contributed by community members like you! In addition, we’ll have a few surprises including games, a reception, and a peek at some special home movies drawn from local archives.

Home Movie Fest wants your home movie! Find that box of old film reels and videocassettes. Select something you would be interested in showing on the big screen and spending a few minutes talking about with the audience. Home Movie Fest will digitize the submissions it selects for exhibition and will return all submitted materials to their owners. We are happy to accept the following formats:

    • Digital (on DVD or as file on external/portable memory card/stick)
    • VHS-C and Mini-DV
    • VHS
    • Beta
    • Super 8
    • 8mm
    • 16mm

To submit material to Home Movie Fest, click here to download the Home Movie release form, fill out the form, and bring it with your home movie submission to the Box Office at Circle Cinema Jan. 26-Feb. 3, 2018. Be sure you include you completed and signed submission form with your home movie when you drop it off.
